16-year-old shot and killed in Richmond

According to a Richmond Police Department press release, a 16-year-old child has been killed after a shooting incident the evening of July 6 at an apartment complex located at 1930 Rocky Falls in Richmond – county seat for Fort Bend County. The young man was brought to Oak Bend Medical Center at about 11:40 p.m. and the shooting was subsequently reported to authorities.

“Allegedly, a 19-year-old male fired a single shot striking a 16-year-old male.  Both the victim and the suspect were inside the same apartment when the shooting occurred,” the RPD statement said.

Family members transported the 16-year-old to the hospital and he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The 19-year-old suspect, identified as Maximo Irving Ortuno Rabadan of Rosenberg had also accompanied the victim to the hospital and was later arrested and is charged with Negligent Homicide with a Deadly Weapon/Firearm – a 3rd degree felony.

Fort Bend County Jail records show that Ortuno Rabadan is currently being held at the Fort Bend County Jail and no bond has been set as of the afternoon of July 7.
