Katy ISD on Wednesday said a rumored threat of a shooting at Paetow High School was unfounded and all students were safe.
In a letter sent to parents, the district said police investigated the rumored threat before the school day began and determined to be unfounded. Police are continuing to investigate the matter.
Even with the reassurances, the district said parents were welcome to pick up their students if they had concerns. Many did.
Paetow High School, 23111 Stockdick School Road, is one of the district’s newer high schools. The district said the school opened in August 2017. It has an enrollment of about2,500 students and over 200 teachers and staff.
