Jerry Hebert was born in Houston, TX in 1932. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Evans in 1951 while he was serving in the US Air Force. She remained married to “Billy” for 68 years until his death in 2019. Theirs was a marriage based on love, immense mutual respect, and a total, all in commitment to Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior.
Jerry and Billy went on to have three children and lived in Garland for many years. Later they moved to Katy, TX to be near their extended family.
In addition to being a supportive wife and a loving, caring mother, Jerry worked as an office assistant for many years at Orchard Hills Baptist Church in Garland before moving to Katy. During her time in Garland, she was a troop leader for her daughter’s Brownie troop, taught Sunday School at Orchard Hills and sponsored a High School girls Bible study group which met at her home once a week and many more activities too numerous to list.
Jerry and Bill were active in a local Square Dance club, and often traveled across the US in their RV with friends to various Square Dance events. The best of times was when they took their grandkids on trips in the RV. The grandkids always hoped the trips would never end.
While in Katy, Jerry organized and lead the Senior Adult group at First Baptist, Katy on monthly day trips.
After the passing of her beloved Billy, Jerry moved back to Garland to live out the rest of her years.
The family would like to extend their eternal gratitude and appreciation for all the love and care she received while living at Grand Brook Memory Care in Garland.
