It wasn’t just Jordan High School boosters who were glued to their phones on Saturday night. All over the Katy area – including in Katy’s historic downtown square in the heart of Tigerland – fans came together to root for the Warriors as they played in the school’s first state title game on Saturday in San Antonio in the UIL Class 6A Division Championship.
And it wasn’t just the championship for the Warriors – Jordan would have been the first Katy ISD school to win a state title in boys basketball.
But a victory – and the title – were not to be.
Despite a fight to the finish, the Warriors lost to Denton Guyer 48-47.
Coach Charlie Jones, in media interviews following the game, expressed his pride in the team.
