Katy grad Small declares for NFL draft

Posted

Katy graduate and current Texas A&M kicker Seth Small announced over social media on Jan. 6 that he won’t return for a fifth season with the Aggies.

“After many days in prayer, I have decided to enter the 2022 NFL Draft,” Small said on his Instagram post. “To God be the glory. Whether His plan for my future is football or other endeavors. I love Texas A&M and am and always will be a proud former student.”

Small was ranked the No. 3 kicker in the country when he graduated from Katy and made 12 field goals in his senior year, going 68-70 on extra points.

“Thank you to Coach Fisher, Coach Williams, Coach V, Coach Joseph and all the other incredible coaches that have helped me to become the man and athlete I am today, Small said.”

All he did once joining A&M was take his game to the next level.

Over the course of his college career, Small made 71 of 91 field goal attempts, and he went 22-27 in his senior season.

“To my teammates, you have been like family and the relationships we have built will last a lifetime,” Small said. “I have cherished every moment with you.”

Small’s biggest moment came as a senior against Alabama. Small connected on a 28-yard field goal as time expired to give Texas A&M a win over the Crimson Tide.

Small also became the holder of the most made field goals in Aggie history.

“Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to represent Texas A&M the past four years,” he said. “I will forever cherish my time spent at the best University.”
