KISD and Randall's partner to offer optional COVID-19 vaccine to younger students

Katy Independent School District announced that Randall’s Pharmacy will offer a series of optional COVID-19 vaccinations opportunities for students ages 5 to 11 at the District’s Agricultural Sciences Center location at 5825 Katy Hockley Cut Off Road, Katy.

“Over the past two school years, the District has worked to support our students and staff with resources to help navigate the global pandemic,” said KISD Director of Risk Management Lance Nauman. “Now that the Food and Drug Administration  and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  have approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for younger children, we are taking steps to make it easily accessible to our students.”

Randall’s Pharmacy will be administering the COVID-19 vaccine starting Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, at the Katy ISD Agricultural Sciences Center, located at 5801 Hockley Cut-Off Road free of charge. Students 12-18 may also receive an initial COVID-19 immunization but are not eligible for a booster vaccination at this time. A valid student ID and a completed parent consent form must be presented for a student to receive a vaccination.

The dates and times for the Randall’s vaccination opportunities at the Ag Sciences Center are as follows:

Initial Shot #1

Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021

3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021

10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021

3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Follow-up Shot #2

Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021

3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021

10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021

3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Katy ISD students are not required to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in order to participate in District activities and programs. For more information about the optional COVID-19 vaccination available to students 5-18 years old, please contact covid19responses@katyisd.org or 281-396-7499.
