In loving memory of Linda Ann Sawyer

Linda Ann Sawyer passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. She was born April 25, 1955 at Ft. Hood, Texas, the first child of Grady Blake and Helen Rita Sawyer.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Talbert, and her brothers, Dennis Sawyer and Andy Sawyer.

Linda earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Texas A&M University and her Master of Education degree from the University of Houston. With a passion for children and education, she distinguished herself as an elementary school teacher in Houston and Katy, Texas. She was a voracious reader and a lifelong student of history.

Linda will be remembered for her humor, honesty, intuitiveness, intelligence, and compassion for the disadvantaged. She was actively involved in politics at the local and national level throughout her life. She served as a Democratic convention delegate. Highlights of her political experience included meeting Presidents Johnson and Clinton.
Linda was the proud, loving aunt to 1 niece and 4 nephews. She enjoyed doting on her 5 great nieces and 5 great nephews, too.

The family requests donations to local SPCA chapters in lieu of flowers, honoring Linda's enduring love for dogs.

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Cavalry Cemetery in Bryan, TX. Linda's final resting place will be next to her beloved parents.
