A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon following an incident in which a four-year-old boy was critically wounded Monday night.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies said Francisco Lupian was visiting a residence in the 22300 block of Guston Hall in the Williamsburg Colony subdivision. Major Susan Cotter of the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said he had a gun with him. She said another child, a nine-year-old boy, found the gun and accidentally discharged it. The four-year-old was struck in the head.

Cotter said the boy was first taken to Memorial Hermann Katy hospital. She said the boy was later taken to the Texas Medical Center via Life Flight.

Cotter described the situation as fluid and it remains under investigation.

17-year-old man arrested following fatal car crash on N. Fry Road

A 17-year-old man has been charged with DWI following a fatal car crash Monday night at 1811 N. Fry Road.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies said Mohammed Yasin was driving a car on Fry Road when it struck a vehicle exiting a private driveway. Yasin’s car entered the northbound lanes and was struck by another vehicle.

Deputies said Yasin and two teenage passengers, both 16, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car pulling out of the driveway was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies said that driver failed to yield right-of-way.

The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.

Deputies said Yasin was probably traveling at high speed before the crash and was determined to be under the influence.

Deputies said reconstruction will be performed to determine if speed was a factor in the wreck.
