Mark Thomas Denker was born on November 19, 1959 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Norma Cox and Donald Joe Denker. He grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin, where he graduated from Craig High School in 1978. Mark came to Houston from Wisconsin in 1983, 39 years ago, after the downturn in the economy. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was an avid reader. He loved traveling in his RV and had a great love for animals. Mark met Brenda, the love of his life, and they married on June 22, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a wonderful husband with a kind loving heart. He will be remembered for being driven, self-motivated, with an excellent work ethic. Mark had a huge heart and always gave 100 percent regardless the project, whether it was work or home related. He was a fantastic mentor that enjoyed teaching while helping those truly in need. Mark enjoyed spending his time in Galveston on the beach, fishing, RVing and camping. He was an avid reader with a love of all genres of music from country to rock and roll and his fabulous cooking and barbeque will be missed.

Mark Thomas Denker passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at his home in Katy, at the age of 62.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Denker of Katy; sons, Christopher Hetherington of Katy, Colby Newton of Katy and, beloved granddaughter, Emily Smith; sister, Patricia Lynn Ridley of Katy; dogs, Hollie, Lacey, and Bentley; and his cat, Rosie Kitty; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Steven Donald Denker; and beloved dogs, Sasha and Chloe.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, with Dr. Chris Hopf officiating. A reception will follow in the reception suite.
