At the January 27 meeting of the Katy ISD board of trustees, the new Campus Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach for Taylor High School was recognized by Superintendent Ken Gregorski. Chris Babin will replace Chad Simmons, who retired in November 2024. According to a December 14 post on the Taylor High School Facebook page, “Coach Babin brings over 20 years of experience in education, including ten years as a head football coach, nine years as an athletic administrator, and a proven record of building successful athletic programs. With a Master’s in Educational Administration and a history of fostering academic and athletic excellence, Coach Babin is passionate about developing student-athletes and creating a culture of success. We look forward to his leadership and the positive impact he will bring to our community.” Babin’s wife is also an employee of KISD, he told attendees at the board meeting.
