On Friday, November 1, the newly remodeled Walmart store located at 22850 Morton Ranch Rd. in Katy was unveiled to the local community. A celebratory ribbon-cutting and community event took take place that included the recognition of community partnerships and a $2,500 check presentation to a local organization, David’s Toy Project. The Katy-based nonprofit collects funds to acquire toys, games, and similar items and donates such items for the benefit patients at Texas Children’s Hospital-West Campus and six other pediatric cancer locations in the Houston area, according to their Facebook page.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, attendees were invited inside the store to see the transformation that includes innovations and improvements designed to elevate the Walmart shopping experience, including:
· Upgraded cosmetic sections with high end fragrances.
· New coolers for cold chains and infant foods.
· Updated wine and beer selections.
· New and improved counters.
The store also has a new community-focused mural inside.
The location is under the direction of Walmart store manager, Rolando Hernandez.
