Performing arts activities are underway in the Katy Independent School District, as six high schools are staging plays this month. Here’s an overview.

Mayde Creek High School

The Mayde Creek High School Fine Arts Department presents The Addams Family, a musical comedy about an eccentric, macabre family.

Shows are at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, at the Mayde Creek High School Performing Arts Center, 19202 Groeschke Road.

Taylor High School

The Taylor High School Fine Arts Theatre presents Seussical, a musical based on the many characters created by the author Dr. Seuss.

Shows are at 7 p.m. Jan. 20-22 at the Taylor High School Performing Arts Center, 20700 Kingsland Blvd.

Tompkins High School

The Tompkins High School Fine Arts Theatre presents Seussical, a musical based on the many characters created by the author Dr. Seuss.

Shows are at 7 p.m. Jan. 20-21, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Jan. 22, at the Tompkins High School Performing Arts Center, 4400 Falcon Landing Blvd.

Jordan High School

The Jordan Theatre Company presents Monty Python’s Spamalot, a musical comedy based on the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Shows are at 7 p.m. Jan. 27-28, and 2 p.m. Jan. 29, at the Jordan High School Performing Arts Center, 27500 Fulshear Bend Dr.

Paetow High School

The Paetow Theatre Company presents Anastasia, a musical that adapts the legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia, who could have escaped the execution of her family.

Shows are at 7 p.m. Jan. 27-28, and at both 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Jan. 29, at the Paetow High School School Performing Arts Center, 23111 Stockdick School Road. The theatre also presents Breakfast with Anastasia, which is set for 10 a.m. Jan. 29 in the Paetow High School Small Café.

Seven Lakes High School

The Studio VII Theatre Company presents Almost, Maine!, a play that explores love and loss in a mythical New England town.
