The Oath Foxhole Program supports Carriage Inn veterans

Posted

Veterans at Carriage Inn Katy senior living community were recipients of community outreach efforts provided by the Oath, Inc. organization, a local, faith-based non-profit organization that utilizes various outdoors activities centered around faith, family, and community to improve the quality of life of eligible heroes. The organization’s Foxhole Program, which was launched in January of 2024, provides support to senior veterans and their surviving spouses. Representatives from the program visited Carriage Inn veterans residing at the community to offer conversation, appreciation, and social connection.

Brandon Weed, U.S. Army Paratrooper and Senior Benefits Advisor with Veteran Care Advisors, offers a monthly veterans program at the community and partners with the Oath, Inc. organization and Carriage Inn Activities Director, Thelma Pope, to identify resident veterans who might enjoy personal visits. Visits are brief but provide an opportunity to share memories of camaraderie and military service or discuss various topics related to veterans and veterans benefits. Resident veterans or spouses of veterans are eligible for visits.

“Our residents feel honored to be acknowledged in this way and enjoy the chance to talk and visit with other veterans who have served in different branches of the military,” said Rebecca Borrello, Carriage Inn Sales and Marketing Director. “There is a genuine sense of camaraderie that grows during the visits.”

“We are deeply committed to supporting our fellow veterans through the Oath, Inc.,” said Weed. “The Foxhole program has been a meaningful endeavor we pursue as volunteers with passion and dedication.” To learn more about the Oath, Inc., visit https://oathinc.org/.
