Boaz House expands services to Katy

Now, Katy has its own Christian recovery home, specifically for women fighting addiction.

The Boaz House, based in Brookshire at 4327 Fourth Street since December 2019, has opened a home in the northeast quadrant of Katy which serves as an alcohol and drug treatment center housing up to seven women. The address is not being shared for the security and protection of the residents. Since opening in March 2025, the Katy location has helped around 12 women, along with their family members.

The program offers personalized counseling with a licensed chemical dependency counselor to support women's recovery journey, with sessions focused on addressing addiction challenges and fostering a path to lasting change.

“At The Boaz House, we believe in the redemptive power of Christ-centered community and the healing journey of women in recovery,” said founder Christina Curtis in an email interview with the Katy Times. “Our one year long residential discipleship program provides a structured, grace-filled environment where women can rebuild their lives, deepen their faith, and pursue lasting freedom from addiction and other unwanted behaviors. With a curriculum rooted in biblical truth, trauma-informed care, and life skills development, we help each woman uncover her God-given identity and walk in restoration. Our mission is not only to support recovery but to cultivate wholeness: spirit, soul, and body.” Children and pets are not permitted.

Curtis’ vision for the organization included expanding the program to the Katy area.

“The reason for opening a location in Katy was [that] there were far more resources, services, and opportunities for our residents,” said Curtis. “When looking for expansion, our house in Katy found us. The house had recently been remodeled and was made specifically with recovery in mind.” Boaz House received some help along the way, from Grace Fellowship and from Finishing Touches Ministry. Funding comes from private donations and partnerships, Curtis said.

The Boaz House was founded and is directed by Curtis, who after struggling in addiction most of her life, decided to get help in 2016. Curtis told the Katy Times that after being saved and set free, she knew that God had called her to share with other women the love that Jesus has for them so they could find lasting freedom in recovery as well. After her stay in treatment, she returned home to Brookshire where The Boaz House was born. The Brookshire facility has helped about 100 women since its inception, Curtis said.
