Athena Medical Clinic opens in Brookshire

Dr. Tammy Allen, along with nurses Senthilnayaka Kasiraja and Iolani Aves, have opened Athena Medical Clinic in Brookshire.

The staff said its goal is to provide top-of-the-line medical care for people all stages of life. Towards that end, the clinic strives to help every patient family live long, productive lives. The staff wants to build strong, long-term relationships founded on trust and supported by quality, compassionate care for a wide range of health issues.

Hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

Royal STEM Academy holding toiletry drive to benefit Hangar Unity Center

The Royal STEM Academy Elementary Student Council is holding a toiletry drive to benefit the Hangar Unity Center, 4010 4th St. in Brookshire.

Items being sought for donation include bar soap, bottled soap, dental floss, deodorant, disposable wipes, hand sanitizer, hairbrushes, pocket-size Kleenex or paper tissues, shampoo, socks (all sizes), toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Project Prom set for Feb. 11

The second annual Brookshire Project Prom, in which young ladies are paired with personal shoppers for the perfect prom dress, is set for 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Hangar Unity Center.
