Celebrate Katy’s rice heritage with donations to ‘Resurrection Rice’

Posted

It’s October, it’s Katy and it’s time for the rice harvest – and that great festival celebrating the rice harvest is just around the corner.

Come together in the spirit of the harvest to join in “Resurrection Rice” – a community effort to bless families in need.

On Sunday, October 5, the Resurrection Katy Church will collect bags of rice to support Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) and to “extend love and care to families in our community,” per their Facebook post which was shared by Honestly Texas Rice on September 27.

The post asks that participants bring “as many bags of rice as you can” to 6331 Highway Blvd. in Katy at 10 a.m. on October 5. All donations will be given to KCM. For more information, call 281-407-8716.
