MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Petty Officer 3rd Class Juana Londono, from Katy, Texas, is one of more than 5,000 sailors serving aboard the self-contained mobile airport, USS Theodore Roosevelt.
Londono graduated from Cypress Lakes High School in 2018.
The skills and values needed to succeed in the Navy are similar to those found in Katy.
“Growing up was not always easy for my family and I because we went through a lot to get to where we are now,” said Londono. “Moving from Florida to Texas meant starting from zero, which was very challenging. This move taught me that throughout life we will all go through many obstacles and get things thrown at us, but it will all be worth it in the end. This mindset has helped me succeed in the Navy.”
Londono joined the Navy nearly five years ago. Today, Londono serves as a culinary specialist.
