Katy Responds, a local nonprofit which organizes and leads home restoration projects for Katy families in need, will sponsor “Congregational Disaster Readiness Training” on Saturday, June 15 from 9:15 to 11: 30 a.m. The seminar is designed for church volunteers who will be serving following a disaster in the areas of mucking, gutting or tarping a home and anyone who will be serving in the area of comprehensive care. The event, to be held at Katy’s First United Methodist Church at 5601 Fifth Street in Katy, is free but pre-registration is required. To register, please email sonya.meyers@txcdr.org.
