“It means a lot to me honestly,” Marsh said. “I’ve been watching the game or a long time and it’s such a cool thing. I’m just really glad to be honored for it and thankful to do it in front of my whole community and this school. That is who I do it for.”

Andrew Marsh has received plenty of accolades throughout his high school career.
From all-district honors, to Touchdown Club of Houston honors to national based honors and being named a four-star recruit, committing to the University of Michigan and plenty more.
But last week was special for Marsh. There were plenty of accolades he had already received but being named to the one of the most prestigious bowl games in the nation moved towards the top of the list.
Marsh gained that distinction before Jordan’s final District 19-6A game of the season last week, receiving his bowl jersey for the Navy All-American Bowl and being honored by the Naval Service and NBC, which will broadcast the bowl game.
“It means a lot to me honestly,” Marsh said. “I’ve been watching the game or a long time and it’s such a cool thing. I’m just really glad to be honored for it and thankful to do it in front of my whole community and this school. That is who I do it for.”
Marsh was awarded his jersey in an on-field ceremony following the national anthem and before the Warriors final game. He then took the field and caught five passes for 59 yard and two touchowns to lead Jordan to a blowout win Paetow, clinching the Warriors highest ever finish in district and highest ever win total for a season.
Marsh has been leading this team since he was a freshman and has always been the one that has set the example. His hard work and the hard work of everyone in the Warriors program has started to pay off and Marsh hopes that for younger players in the program, seeing him achive these heights will help them do the same.
“I think being the first person from Jordan to get this kind of honor is what makes it so special,” Marsh said. “We like to say that us and the class before us really build this school and it’s up to us to leave that impact. We want to leave with the school being accomplished and make everyone proud so that the younger guys can strive to be even better.”
The impact from Marsh has been felt around the entire Warriors program. He has provided leadership for other players, set an example of the amount of work you need to put in and how to handle adversity. That’s one reason why the talented 6-foot-1, four-star recruit was one of 100 players from around that country that were named to the Navy All-American game roster.
“He has an amazing personality and its infectious,” said Jordan head coach Mike Rabe. “He’s fun to talk to, he always has a smile on his face and he’s a great kid. It’s been tremendous for the rest of our kids to see what he’s become. The younger kids come through and they get to see Andrew’s work ethic, see the way he performs in games and learn from him. It’s been a huge asset to this program.”
But for Marsh, as much as the moment was special for him, what makes him happiest is being able to celebrate it with his mother, Elanor Marsh. She has done a lot to help her son get to this point and for Andrew, the night was just as much about her as it was about him.
“I just learned that I need to have good people around me and I keep my circle tight,” Marsh said. “The community is all amazing out here, I have great family members around me and I just try to focus on myself and not get caught up in anything else.”
