Shirley Marie (Lemke) Polk, 78, of Weimar, Texas, passed away on February 4, 2022.

She was born on April 23, 1943 in Hallettsville, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, granny, and smiling friend to all who knew her. Shirley was a published author and loved to both write and read books. She enjoyed sewing and previously owned her own costume shop in Katy, Texas. Road trips with family were a joy to her. Shirley is fondly remembered for always giving of herself and her time to family and also those she called her family, treating both equally the same in love.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Leroy James Polk of Weimar; daughter Pam Pfile and husband Bryan of Katy, Texas; son Michael Polk and wife Charlotte of Bellville, Texas; daughter Mary Duty and husband Wade of Weimar, Texas; sister Loretta Kacal of Beasley, Texas; sister-in-law Bobbie Lemke of Muldoon, Texas; grandson Justin Pfile and fiancé Jessica of Katy, Texas; granddaughter Katy Dunn and husband Chris of Katy, Texas; grandson Tanner Bratton of Bellville, Texas; grandson Cash Duty of Weimar, Texas; grandson Cole Duty of Weimar, Texas; granddaughter Lily Polk of Bellville, Texas; granddaughter Evie Polk of Bellville, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her mother and step-father Rose and Jimmie Mazoch and brother Clyde Lemke.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 9 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Weimar, Texas. Father Wayne Flagg will be officiating. Burial will take place at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church cemetery in Weimar, Texas.

Memorials may be given to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School in Weimar, Texas or St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg, Texas.
