Prime time is coming to Houston.
After years of having little to no national attention, this will bring a big change for Houston as the Texans will have plenty of time in the spotlight in 2024-25.
Houston will open the season away against the Indianapolis Colts before getting a prime-time game early in the season in week two when the Texans host the Chicago Bears for Sunday Night Football.
In total, the Texans have four prime-time games on the season, including two games of Sunday night football, one game on a Monday night and one Thursday night game. Houston will play the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football on Oct. 31, the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football on Nov. 10 and Houston will play the Dallas Cowboys in a Monday Night Football matchup on Nov. 18. The game will be the first between the two teams since 2022, when the Cowboys beat the Texans 27-23, the Cowboys lead the all-time series between the team’s 4-2.
The biggest game of the regular season for the Texans may come on Christmas day, Houston will host the Baltimore Ravens in a game that will only air on Netflix in a rematch of last season’s AFC Divisional Round playoff game where Houston’s season came to an end.
Other big big games for the Texans come in week 16 when they will play the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 21, Week 15 in a matchup against the Dolphins, week 10 against the Lions and week 7 against the Green Bay Packers in what will be a challenging but action packed schedule for Houston.
Houston’s preseason will start Aug. 1 when they travel to Chicago to take on the Bears in the Hall of Fame Game. Houston will then be on the road against the Steelers on Aug. 9 before closing the preseason against the New York Giants on Aug. 17 at home.
