Tompkins kept their hot run in the playoffs going this week with another playoff sweep, taking down Cy-Creek in two games in the area round of the playoffs and advancing to the regional quarterfinals for the third straight season.

Tompkins won the first game 3-0 before taking game two 13-3 to complete the sweep, winning their 15th straight game in the process.

Ty Dagley led Tompkins to the win in game one, as he and Kaden Bertrand combined to pitch a no-hitter, with Dagley going six innings and Bertrand coming in for the save.

Dagley struck out eight over his six innings while walking three before Bertrand retired the side in the seventh with just seven pitches.

Tompkins took the lead in the fourth inning, Cooper Markle got the Falcons on the board with a sacrifice fly before Darius Woodson hit an RBI single to make it 2-0. They got a big insurance run in the top of the seventh from a bases loaded walk before Bertrand closed it out.

Tompkins followed that up with a huge offensive day in game two of the series to win 13-3.

Tompkins had 13 hits in the game, including 12 RBIs in the win.

Gavin Brewer also had a strong day on the mound, going all six innings and allowing three runs on three hits while striking out seven and walking one.

Cy-Creek started the scoring in the first inning with one run and got two more in the second, but Tomkins quickly turned things around. Tompkins got two runners on in the second inning and Adam Benavidez came up and tied the game with a 3-run home run, Ty Dagley then tripled to bring another run home and give Tompkins a 4-3 lead.

Benavidez added another RBI in the third inning with a sacrifice fly before Woodson brought in one on a single and Aryan Chopra had a RBI single of his own. Tompkins got three more in the fourth, Landon West had an RBI double to start the scoring in the inning and Tompkins got a run off an error before the Falcons capped off the inning with a run on a passed ball.

It stayed that way until the sixth inning, when Tompkins closed things out. Benavidez hit a sacrifice fly, Woodson hit an RBI double and Dagley closed it out with an RBI single to secure the run rule win.

Tompkins advances to the third round to face Katy in a district battle as both look to get to the third round. Tompkins won both games against Katy earlier this year, 4-2 and 7-4 and both teams will head into the matchup on a hot streak playing strong baseball.
