VADA SUE (CROW) JORDAN THOMPSON, 78, of Bellville, Texas. Passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023, in Katy, Texas.
She was born September 11, 1944, in Hempstead, Texas, the daughter of Russell Nathan and Vada Searcy Phillips Crow. Vada grew up in the Pine Island area, graduating from Waller High School in 1962.
Vada was united in marriage to Gary Jordan in 1963 and was blessed with three children. They settled in Katy until 2000. She was a payroll Tax Manager for a nursing facility for many years. She moved to Orange in 2002. Vada married Herbert Thompson, on May 16, 2003, in Houston, Texas. They continued to call Orange home until her retirement in 2012, when they moved to Bellville.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cake decorating, casino trips with her sister, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Vada volunteered at the First Baptist Church in Orange.
She is survived by her loving husband: Herbert Thompson of Bellville; sister: Georgiana Gilbert of Houston, children: Wayne Jordan and his wife, Sybil, of Bellville, Susan Jordan of Katy, and Ken Jordan and his wife, Stacey, of Katy; grandchildren: Chance and Cheyenne Jordan, John and Ella Curbo; eleven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews: Don and Toni Thompson of Orange, and Tammy and Steve Burdett of Amarillo; and numerous other family members and dear friends.
Vada was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Vada Crow.
