Seven Lakes (3-5, 1-5) vs. Mayde Creek (4-4, 2-4), 6:30 p.m. at Legacy Stadium

Last year: Mayde Creek 31, Seven Lakes 24

• Seven Lakes and Mayde Creek meet in a battle of two teams trying to bounce back and get in the win column after suffering hard fought losses.
  Seven Lakes comes in having lost three in a row but still having played competitively in those games. The Spartans scored a season high 19 points in its loss against Tompkins last week and got touchdowns on a 1-yard run from Braylon Hayes and a 26-yard touchdown pass from Shaan Patel to Kaizer Floyd, but Tompkins run game was too much for the Spartans as the Falcons ran away with It in the end.
  Mayde Creek comes off a game where its offense played very well, but they couldn’t find a way to get the stops they needed defensively. Trey Williams threw for 276 yard and three touchdowns in the loss and Daylin Johnson had over 200 yards receiving on 14 catches. Mayde Creek erased a 20 point deficit in the game but two fourth quarter touchdowns from Cinco Ranch led to the loss, as they gave up 279 yards through the air.
  Both teams will be trying to shore up their defense, Mayde Creek will try to build on a great offensive game while Seven Lakes will try to build off its most points of the season as well.

Morton Ranch (0-8, 0-6) vs. Cinco Ranch (3-6, 3-4), 7 p.m. at Rhodes Stadium

Last year: Cinco Ranch 49, Morton Ranch 42

• Morton Ranch and Cinco Ranch head into a game where both teams will be highly motivated, as the Mavericks come off their bye week and the Cougars close out their regular season.
  Morton Ranch fell in a hard fought game against Mayde Creek last time out and has had two weeks to prepare for this game and will be prepared and ready. Against Mayde Creek, The Mavericks allowed 154 yards through the air and 183 yards on the ground. The Mavericks got two touchdowns in the game, one on a 27-yard pass from Jayceon Jenkins to Tyler Williams that gave Morton Ranch the lead in the first quarter and another when Tyler Gilmore ran in a 16-yard touchdown that gave the Mavericks the lead again in the second quarter before Morton Ranch was unable to keep the offense going in the second half.
  Cinco meanwhile comes off a wild win over Mayde Creek in its last game. The Cougars built a 20 point lead in the first quarter, but lost that lead in the second half before scoring two late touchdowns to earn the win. Charlie Adamoli threw for 276 yards and four touchdowns in the air and Drew Tureau had 149 yards receiving and three touchdowns to lead the way for Cougars.
  Morton Ranch will have to be focused on stopping that Cinco Ranch pass game and will hope to build on some good pass moments of their own, while the Cougars will try to try to be better against the pass but continue the same kind of offensive performance they had against Mayde Creek.

Friday

Tompkins (5-3, 4-2) vs. Katy (7-1, 6-0), 6:30 p.m. at Legacy Stadium

Last year: Katy 41, Tompkins 7

• The two hottest teams in district face off this week as Katy, which has won six straight, goes up against Tompkins, which has won four straight.
  The Falcons come off a win over Seven Lakes. Tompkins held Seven Lakes to 19 points and got plenty of scores in the game, including a 15-yard touchdown pass from Justin Thierheimer to James Mayes, a 4-yard touchdown run by Ethan Meadows, a 14-yard touchdown pass from Thierheimer to Meadows and a 36-yard touchdown pass from Thierheimer to Carter Young. It’s the fourth straight game that Tompkins has scored over 30 points and the offense has really started clicking for the team.
  Katy meanwhile won its sixth straight game and for the fourth straight game didn’t allow an offensive touchdown. Aqualis Jordan went over 100 yards rushing in the game while Gunner Nelson had a good day throwing the ball, completing 13 of 17 passes for 183 yards and two touchowns, and Israel Olotu-Judah had four catches for 79 yards. The Tigers did it all without No. 1 running back Tremayne Hill.
  Katy will be battling to stay atop district and keep its goal of an outright district championship alive, while Tompkins will try to keep pushing and fight for better playoff positioning heading into the last week of the regular season.

Paetow (6-2, 5-1) vs. Taylor (2-6, 1-5), 7 p.m. at Rhodes Stadium

Last year: Paetow 13, Taylor 10

• Paetow and Taylor close out the week of games, as Paetow tries to bounce back from a loss and Taylor does as well.
  Paetow fought but was unable to do much offensively in the loss to Katy. The Panthers managed just 11 yards on the ground in the game, including only 26 yards for Terrence Johnson, who had been shredding defenses in District 19-6A. Jackson Farrar threw for 116 yards in the game, but Paetow wasn’t able to turn that into points and struggled against Katy’s offense, allowing 240 yards through the air and 174 yards on the ground.
  Taylor meanwhile, comes off a loss to Jordan in its last game. The Mustangs defense did a good job in holding the Warriors offense most of the day, but did allow some big plays. Taylor’s offense though struggled, only managing three points with a 36-yard field goal in the third quarter.
  It’ll be a battle of strength on strength as Paetow prides itself on its run game and defense and Taylor does the same.
