Pedaling the Prairie bike ride returns on February 24th

Pedaling the Prairie, which organizers bill as one of the best training rides in Texas, will begin at 7 a.m. at the Waller County Fairgrounds, 22000 Fairground Road in Hempstead, on February 24th. This non-competitive race cruises past the rice fields and prairie between Bellville and Katy, Texas, with several well-planned routes, ranging from a 24-mile beginner course to a 68-mile endurance ride. Harris County Precinct 4 presents “A Seat at the Table” at West Houston Institute on February 24th Join the West Houston Institute for a powerful Black History Month networking breakfast and panel discussion hosted by Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones. Celebrate “A Seat at the Table” with inspiring Black women leaders on February 24th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the West Houston Institute at 2811 Hayes Road, Houston. Celebrate Texas Independence Day on March 2nd at with the Texas Heritage Festival at the Fulshear Branch Library

Jointly sponsored by the Fulshear Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, Christ Clinic and Houston Methodist West Hospital, the Texas Heritage Festival will offer unique ways to celebrate Texas’ independence. There will be Texas games, bounce houses, bull riding, longhorns, and a petting zoo, along with cultural exhibitions, live music, and square dancing. Local vendors will also offer items for purchase. The free event starts at high noon on March 2nd and continues until 4 p.m. at the Fulshear Branch Library, 6350 GM Library Road, off Texas Heritage Parkway. It's a blast from the past on March 2nd with “Retro Rewind” from Katy’s Parks and Recreation Department

Greater Katy Senior Expo comes to the Merrell Center on March 7th

Seniors can connect with dozens of local companies specializing in senior services at the Greater Katy Senior Expo at the Merrell Center, 6301 S. Stadium Lane, Katy on Thursday, March 7th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free event offers free parking, free health screenings, free refreshments and a chance to win a $200 VISA gift card. Other prizes will be awarded hourly and there are additional giveaways as well. Katy Pride to host social event March 7th at BB’s-Tex Orleans

Meet the Katy Pride board of directors and other LGTBQ community members at Katy Pride’s social event at BB's Tex-Orleans, 406 W. Grand Parkway in Katy on March 7th at 6:30 p.m. The event, sponsored by TLN Consulting, will be held on the patio if the weather cooperates or in the private room if not. All attendees will be responsible for their own food and drink with an automatic 20% gratuity.

Shop til you drop at the Rosenberg Spring Market March 8-10

Come to the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds for a fun weekend of shopping with handmade crafts, home decor, jewelry, holiday accessories, children's gifts, clothing boutiques & more on March 8-19.
