“The best thing about him is how composed he is and it just is great for the rest of our guys,” Sanders said. “He’ll miss five in a row and it will look like he’s just made five. He never loses confidence in himself and that confidence goes through the whole team. more
“Our slogan is to go out and play fast and furious,” said sophomore guard Scottie Guillory. “That all we were doing. Got up and down the court, pressured them on defense and did whatever we could to keep this game fast. That’s just how we want to play, and it makes teams uncomfortable.” more
“We have a lot of talent and skill on this team and it’s starting to come together, that’s what we’ve needed,” Jategaonkar said. “There’s been lows and highs but we found out how to be consistent and we’re building on that." more
“We knew we could compete against these guys and we proved it,” said senior wing Jared DeFrance. “We’re growing as a team, learning to trust each other more and battling. Yeah we were down at half, but nobody hung their heads, we knew we could get back into it and win it.” more
Five Tompkins players were named to the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association All-State team on Friday, as the accolades continued pouring in for the Falcons after they reached the Class 6A state final this season. more
Seven Lakes and Taylor won their brackets at the I-10 shootout in what was a great weekend of competition hosted by the Katy ISD schools, as everyone gets ready for the grind of district schedules. more
“It was a great job by the players and I’m just proud of all of them,” said Tompkins head coach Tamatha Ray. “I would have never have guessed that we would beat that Cinco team by 20 points. I’m just proud of the way they responded." more
“Our coaches just kept telling us keep playing, keep sticking with the gameplan and keep being us,” said sophomore wing Daimon Aidean Rainey Jr. “We all just lifted each other up and encouraged each other and we bought into what the coaches were saying." more

“It’s a great feeling,” said Brianna Nelson. We’ve lost to them the past few years and really struggled, so to get both wins over them this season in special. It’s just an amazing feeling because we’ve put so much work into this and you can see it paying off.” more
“We can be one of the best teams in the state if we just continue to play for each other and play selfless,” Norton said. “We have to continue improving defensively as well because our offense will take care of itself with how talented some of the guys are." more
“It’s a great experience to have and to be a part of,” Hicks said. “Those kids are big, fast and strong. It’s a different level and it almost felt like I was back in the NFL. It’s a lot of the top 300 players in the nation all in one place. It was truly a special thing to be able to coach all of those guys.” more
“They all are disciplined and they’ve already put in that hard work,” Hicks said. “They know what they have to do to succeed. They had that structure in place and they thrived. I think the three of them, no matter where they go, no matter what they end up doing in life, they’re going to be successful." more
Royal had a good number of students named to the District 10-4A, Division II All-District football team after a very strong season in which the Falcons finished second in district, only lost two games and made it back to the playoffs. more
The tournament, hosted by Katy ISD, brings together great teams from throughout the state all of which will come together this Thursday-Saturday to compete at Katy ISD high schools and both Rhodes and Legacy Stadium. more
“Some teams think they can lock down one or two girls and that’s it, but were so unique because we have so many people that can all attack and score,” Robinson said. “This team doesn’t have a weakness because if one of us is off, there’s always another to pick them up." more
