On November 16, volunteers of the global non-profit organization Dr. Shri. Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan (DSNDP), undertook an Adopt-A-Highway cleanup drive in collaboration with the Texas Department of Transportation, working at FM 361/FM 1994 up to Seller Rd, Needville. The drive by DSNDP drew ten volunteers who collected 14 bags of trash resulting in collection of around 210 pounds of waste.
With the core principle of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (The world is one family), DSNDP has undertaken numerous nationwide environmental initiatives since July 2022.
DSNDP’s impact in Texas continues to grow. Previously, the organization also carried out 39 cleanliness activities that include Adopt-a-Road, Adopt-a-Highway, Storm Drain marking and other initiatives across eight cities involving a total of 563 volunteers contributing 889 volunteer hours, and collecting 330 bags of waste resulting in approx. 4950 pounds of trash.
Beyond Texas, DSNDP operates in 19 states and 80 cities across the U.S., hosting 27 environmental programs such as Adopt-A-Highway, Adopt-A-Park, Adopt-A-Beach, and river cleanups.
