Former Katy, Texas, resident, Frederick Irwin (Fred) White, age 93, most recently of Stallings, North Carolina, passed away peacefully, on August 9, 2026, with his wife, Carol, by his side. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Fred was the only child of Alice Bell and John Irwin White. The family later relocated to Toronto.
Fred was an honor student in his primary and secondary school years, then continued his education by earning a law degree from the University of Toronto, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Career highlights include working as a Tax Attorney for ExxonMobil in New York City, and as a Tax Council for the Dillingham Corporation in Honolulu, Hawaii. After retiring from Dillingham, Fred relocated to the Houston, Texas area, becoming a licensed real estate broker, specializing in corporate properties. Fred and Carol later returned to Hawaii to spend their golden years.
In addition to his wife, Carol, and her children, he leaves to mourn his twin daughters, from his first marriage: Marie White, and grandchildren Michael (Caitlyn), Thomas (Kim), Amy (Dany), and Elizabeth (Alex); and Louise Beggs (Bruce), and grandchildren Paul (Chau), David (Diana), and Ben (Daria). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren. From a second marriage, Fred leaves his son, Tom White (Heather), and grandchildren Spencer, Hailey, Logan, and Lucas, as well as stepdaughters, Edith Fung (Tony), grandson, Matthew, and Clare Lin (Hans).
Fred’s family will celebrate his life privately. Donations may be made to the Hawaii Food Bank.
