Seven Lakes head boys soccer coach Jimmy Kreuger was named a Texas High School Coaches Association Coach of the Year for his efforts this season, as he brought the Spartans program to new heights.

Seven Lakes won their fourth straight district title before going on to advance to their second straight regional tournament and state tournament. Then the Spartans did something they had never done before, winning the state tournament for the first time as a program.

Seven Lakes went on a 29 game unbeaten streak during their run to the state title, finishing with a record of 28-1-1 with a 15-0-1 record in district play.

The Spartans also finished the year ranked as the No. 1 high school team in the entire nation by the United Soccer Coaches Association while finishing the year with a +93 goal differential.

Richardson named tennis coach of the year

Tompkins head tennis coach Renee Richardson was named one of the regional coaches of the year after a strong year for her athletes.

The year was headlined by Ananya Sriniketh for Tompkins, who made a run to the state final after winning the district and regional tennis title.

Ewing named golf coach of the year

Seven Lakes Sean Ewing was named one of the THSCA golf coaches of the year as well.

Ewing oversaw a Spartans team that won the District 19-6A championship and finished high enough at the regional tournament to clinch a spot at state. At the state tournament, he helped Maelynn Kim to a gold medal individually while the Spartans finished eighth overall as a team in Class 6A.
