The District 19-6A soccer regular season came to an end on Friday and with it came drama with a number of playoff spots coming down to the final day.

On the boys side there were three teams vying for the final two spots and on the girls side there were three teams trying to clinch a district title.

For the boys, Seven Lakes claimed the district title, while Cinco Ranch came in second, Tompkins took third place and Jordan rounded out the teams.

Paetow came up just short of the playoffs, having a chance going into the final day of the season, but fell 2-1 to Tompkins, as the Falcons secured their spot in the playoffs. Taylor finished fifth in district while Paetow finished sixth, Katy finished seventh, Mayde Creek finished eighth and Morton Ranch finished ninth.

Cinco Ranch closed out district with a win over Seven Lakes, the first loss Seven Lakes had suffered in 47 games going back to 2022 against The Woodlands. Jordan clinched its spot with a 3-1 win over Morton Ranch.

On the girls side, co-district champs were named, as both Seven Lakes and Jordan tied for first place in district. Seven Lakes looked to have the district title outright in the second half of its game against Cinco Ranch, but two late goals from the Cougars tied it. Jordan needed that tie from Seven Lakes and a win themselves to clinch the first-place tie and the Warriors were able to get it by beating Morton Ranch in their final district game.

Katy had a chance to make it a three-way tie for first in district, but after going up 1-0 on Taylor, the Mustangs scored two goals in the second half to end the Tigers district title hopes.

Jordan got the first seed out of district on goal differential and Seven Lakes was the second seed, Tompkins moved up from the fourth to the third spot after a win over Paetow, while Katy loss dropped Katy to the fourth and final playoff spot out of district.  Taylor finished a close sixth in district while Cinco Ranch finished sixth, Paetow finished seventh, Morton Ranch finished eighth and Mayde Creek finished ninth.
