Seven Lakes athletes named to Golf and Swim/Dive Super Elite Team

Four Seven Lakes swimmers were named to the Class 6A Texas High School Coaches Association Super Elite Swim and Dive Team, adding to a strong year for Spartans swimmers and athletes.

Connor Jones, Joel Nace, Taylor Craft and Kailey Koval were named to the Super Elite team after strong years and state finishes.

Jones finished third in the 200-yard freestyle at the Class 6A state meet and Nace finished fourth in the same event. Taylor Craft also competed in the state meet and finished ninth in the 100-yard freestyle while Koval took home a gold medal at state in the 1-meter dive at state. The four were the only Katy ISD representatives on the team.

Kim named to Golf Super Elite Team

Seven Lakes’ Maelynn Kim was named to the Class 6A Super Elite golf team after winning this year’s Class 6A state tournament.

Kim was one of just five players named to the super elite team, along with Hebron’s Stalee Fields, Jersey Village’s Daniela Palmeros, Lake Travis’ Kate Pickrell and San Antonio Reagan’s Lydia Portlock.

Kim won the state golf tournament by finishing four under and winning in a playoff. She shot 70 both days of the tournament and propelled Seven Lakes to an eighth place finish as a team at the tournament, she was the only Katy ISD representative from Katy ISD on the Super Elite Team.
