Seven Lakes senior Justice Carlton announced her commitment to the University of Texas on Friday.
Carlton, a 6-2 forward, is a five star recruit, ranked as No. 7 in the nation by ESPN HoopGurlz. She averaged 22.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in her junior season while earning District 19-6A Offensive MVP honors. She is the daughter of Baylor Women’s Basketball graduate Kacy Carlton, who is top 15 all-time in both scoring and blocks for the Bears.
Carlton picked UT over a final five that included LSU, South Carolina, UConn, and Arizona. She has garnered over 20 offers so far over the course of her four-year letterman career.
Carlton was joined in her commitment by Jordan Lee, a senior at Stockton St. Mary’s in California, who is ranked as the No. 8 prospect in the Class of 2024. The two are the first commitments for the Longhorns in the 2024 cycle.
Seven Lakes will start its basketball season on Nov. 3 by taking on Langham Creek, the Spartans open district play Nov. 28 with a home game against Taylor.
