Six Katy ISD football players were named to the 2023 Touchdown Club of Houston High School Preseason team, as the school district was well represented at the event.

Katy’s Coen Echols, Tompkins’ Ashton Funk, Taylor’s Ian Flynt and Jordan’s Andrew Marsh were all named to the team on offense, while Tompkins’ Eduwa Okundaye and Katy’s Dakyus Brinkley were named to the team on defense.

Echols and Funk, both A&M commits were named to the team as offensive lineman going into their senior years. Flynt, a Nebraska commit joined as one of only two tight ends. Okundaye, an Arizona commit, joined as a defensive lineman and Brinkley, who is committed to Kansas, was named to the team as a linebacker.

Marsh was named to the team as a wide receiver and his big honor was being the only junior named to the team this year.
