The new Depot Building at 908 Avenue B on Katy’s historic town square held its official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, December 6th, with over 60 people present.
Attendees gathered at Southern Dough Restaurant for light bites, with the ribbon cutting hosted by the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce immediately following. A highlight of the event was the presentation of the time capsule which is being assembled. The capsule is currently empty – but interested parties have until January 6th to drop off contributed materials. Materials must fit in a 8.5”x11” sealed envelope and must contain the contact information for the person who will be there in 13 years for the opening of the time capsule, said Adrienne Davitz of the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce.
A tour of the building followed, including shopping opportunities at the Sunshine Station Shop and a tour the new Middleton Venue.
