Tompkins graduate LaViolette named to SEC All-Freshman team

Tompkins graduate and Texas A&M freshman Jace LaViolette was named to the SEC All-Freshman team.

LaViolette helped lead the Aggies to a 38-27 record and a 14-16 record in SEC play while the Aggies made a run to the regional final in Stanford.

LaViolette was strong all season for the Aggies, hitting .286 with 63 RBIS, 21 home runs and 50 runs scored and 18 steals while having 64 hits. He led the Aggies in home runs RBI and stolen bases on the year.

He also had a day in A&M’s Regional Final loss, picking up a team high three hits In the game along with his 21st homLe run of the season, which was the Aggies only run of the game in a 7-1 loss. He was named the SEC player of the week once this season. His 21 home runs is also a school record for a freshman, breaking a 36 year old record.

Along with that LaViolette was named to the Freshman All-America Team by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, becoming the 14th Aggie in program history to garner the honor and the first since 2020.
