The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) invites area residents to a virtual public scoping meeting with in-person open houses this July. TxDOT proposes to construct a new highway, designated 36A North, to improve north–south mobility from Interstate (I)-10 west of Katy, to U.S. Highway (US) 290 west of Waller, with portions of the alignment potentially utilizing existing transportation corridors.
These public meetings are being held to present the proposed project, engage with the local community and listen to public feedback. A pre-recorded presentation will be available for viewing online. The in-person open houses will include the same pre-recorded presentation, and project staff will be available to discuss the project. Interested persons may comment on the proposed project in any language by email, mail or may leave written comments at the open house.

· Open house, Tuesday, July 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. Royal Early Childhood Center Gymnasium, 2505 Durkin Road, Brookshire
· Open house, Thursday, July 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. Waller County Fairgrounds (Edmonds Hall), 21988 FM 359, Hempstead
