The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) and the IHMM Foundation announced on September 15 that the 2025 Dr. John H. Frick Memorial IHMM Scholarship submission period is now officially open. Applications will be accepted through October 15.

The Dr. John H. Frick Memorial IHMM Scholarship fund is distributed equally between students participating in the safety and health (ST/ASHM) and hazardous materials (ST/CHMM) certification programs. Each program has a gold level of $6,000.00, a silver level of $5,000.00 and a bronze level of $2,500.00, according to the organization’s website.

“If you are a Student CHMM or Student ASHM enrolled full-time in an IHMM-approved undergraduate or graduate degree program and dedicated to protecting people, workplaces, and the environment, this scholarship is your opportunity to gain financial support for your studies while advancing your professional development,” the September 15 press release said.

The scholarship enables students to gain recognition for their commitment to environmental health and safety, to access financial assistance to support their studies and to strengthen a path toward a post-graduate IHMM certification and future leadership, according to the organization.
