Carriage Inn executive director recognized for leadership excellence

Carriage Inn Katy’s Executive Director, Tony Rivas, was recently recognized by Long Hill Management/Consulting for his leadership and exemplary contributions to the Cardinal Bay and Stoney Brook senior living communities in 2025. Rivas and fellow colleagues were honored at the company’s annual team retreat held earlier this month.

As part of the retreat’s celebration of accomplishments, superlative-style awards were presented to each director, highlighting their positive impact across the organization. Their unique super-strengths were celebrated with a touch of humor on each award, which was given along with a plaque to each director.

Rivas, known for the care and attention he provides to ensure an accessible and welcoming environment at Carriage Inn Katy, was presented with “The Fix-it Frontier Award” for hands-on prevention that keeps safety first and appeal everlasting.

Rivas has served as Carriage Inn’s executive director for the past six years, but initially joined the Cardinal Bay team 13 years ago, working as a maintenance assistant at Carriage Inn’s sister community, Village on the Park Steeplechase. After experiencing the satisfaction of supporting residents and their families, he decided that a career in senior living was the right fit.

“It’s been a privilege to serve our residents and their families,” said Rivas. “The relationships we nurture here are so meaningful—they create a sense of family and belonging that is essential. As a child, I wasn’t able to enjoy close relationships with my grandparents, but I am blessed to have so many connections with our residents here at Carriage Inn.”

“We’re looking forward to 2026 and the many exciting offerings we have coming up at Carriage Inn,” said Rivas. “From our Mardi Gras celebration and Valentine’s social to our Winter Olympics and Annual Chili Cookoff, we have so much to offer. We invite local seniors to come visit anytime and experience our welcoming community.”

“I am so proud of the work that Tony has done at Carriage Inn at Katy,” shared David Lawlor, President of Long Hill Management/Consulting. “He has built strong relationships with the team as well as with the residents and families we serve. His upbeat attitude has been an inspiration to us all.”
