Chama Gaúcha Brazilian Steakhouse, the Galleria-area restaurant which has been a destination for Brazilian churrasco lovers since 2011, has announced plans to open a second location in Katy, less than a mile west of the Grand Parkway.
The new Chama Gaúcha is scheduled to open in mid-September at 24205 Bella Katy Drive at the Katy Freeway.
Chama Gaúcha’s churrasco tradition centers on meats slowly roasted over an open flame, allowing each cut to develop exceptional flavor while maintaining tenderness. The restaurant sources USDA Prime, Midwest corn-fed beef aged for more than 45 days, while its gauchos undergo extensive training in the traditional Brazilian techniques of grilling, carving and tableside service.
Guests may choose the full churrasco experience at lunch or dinner, featuring continuous tableside service of expertly grilled beef, lamb, pork, chicken and Brazilian sausage, along with unlimited servings from the restaurant’s expansive gourmet salad bar. Unlimited side dishes include caramelized bananas, garlic mashed potatoes, fried polenta and the restaurant’s signature pão de queijo, Brazil’s famed cheese bread.
Diners seeking a lighter option may enjoy the salad bar on its own, with more than 30 fresh selections, imported cheeses, charcuterie and traditional Brazilian accompaniments.
The new Katy location also features five private dining rooms accommodating groups of 20 to 150 guests, making it one of the few venues in Katy designed to host corporate meetings, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, and other special events.
Chama Gaúcha’s Katy location will be managed by Brazilian native and Katy resident Guilherme Da Silva, who has been with Chama Gaúcha since the company’s Galleria-area location opened at 5865 Westheimer in 2011.
“We’ve welcomed many guests from Katy at our Westheimer location for so long that opening here has always been part of our vision,” said Da Silva. “We’re excited to finally bring the Chama Gaúcha experience closer to home for those loyal guests while introducing our authentic Brazilian hospitality to those who live and work in the area.”
