Chick-fil-A®, Houston Astros Foundation hit home run with $10K donation to KCM
‘Bases Loaded’ campaign donates $90K to 9 area nonprofits
Kyle Strickland (far right), executive director of Katy Christian Ministries, accepts a mock check for $10,000 from the “Bases Loaded” campaign during pregame ceremonies at the Houston Astros’ September 4 game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Daikin Park in Houston. Each year, Chick-fil-A® Houston partners with the Astros Foundation on the "Bases Loaded Campaign." Every time the Astros fill the bases at home, both organizations pledge 2,000 meals to the Houston Shared Table Community. KCM was one of nine nonprofits to receive a donation of $10,000, for a total of $90,000 awarded during the event. “I am deeply humbled to accept this check on behalf of our entire community,” Strickland said in an email. “It is a beautiful reminder of what happens when local organizations step up to the plate to ensure our neighbors are supported.” KCM Development Director Heather Peterson thanked the Houston Astros and the Chick-Fil A on Pin Oak in Katy.
