Community prayer vigil honors Charlie Kirk, other lives lost
More than 300 people gathered at VFW Park, 6202 George Bush Drive in Katy, on September 20 for a candlelight vigil honoring slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The ceremony, organized by local residents Tammy Evans, Bianca Alexis and “a bunch of nobodies” according to presenter Joey Beckham, included an audio interview with Kirk, and group prayer sessions, where participants prayed for Kirk’s family and for other victims of recent tragedies, including victims of school shootings and the Minnesota legislators who were shot in their homes.
