Cornerstone Building Brands, a leading manufacturer of exterior building products in North America, partnered up with Roc Solid Foundation on October 23 to build and donate a custom backyard playset for Andi Dalton, a young child from Katy, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment and cannot safely visit public playgrounds.
The playset, built by company employees, was constructed on October 23 at Andi’s home by dedicated volunteers from one of Cornerstone Building Brands’ Houston-area production facilities. Andi, a brave three-year-old girl battling Rhabdomyosarcoma, now has a safe and joyful space to play—bringing a sense of normalcy and happiness to her and her family during a challenging time, the company said in its October 24 press release. Andi is being treated at the Texas Children Hospital where she is actively receiving treatment. “Andi is an only child, and we surprised her with a brand-new playset, giving the family a joyful space to play and focus on what matters most — her recovery,” said a company representative in the release.
This initiative represents the largest multi-build program in Roc Solid Foundation’s 16-year history led by a single company. Through this partnership, Cornerstone Building Brands will build and donate 16 playsets in 15 communities across the country where its employees live and work, launching during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The partnership with Roc Solid is part of Cornerstone Building Brands’ Connecting Communities program, which empowers the company’s employees to strengthen the communities where they live, work and play through volunteerism, charitable giving, local partnerships and product donations. Since its launch in 2022, the program has generated more than 4,000 volunteer hours, engaged 1,600 team members, and supported more than 150 organizations with over $262,000 in charitable contributions.
Cornerstone Building Brands is headquartered in Cary, NC, and employs approximately 597 employees in the Houston area, and the location is home to their Corporate/Shelter Solutions facility that manufactures Metallic®, CECO®, Star®.
