In a story posted August 17 to its website, “Dave Campbell’s Texas Football” projected the 2025 high school football playoffs for every round in Texas’ division 6A. “The road to Arlington starts here,” the story said.

The publication used its 2025 preseason rankings and projections to simulate the entire Class 6A playoff bracket and to predict every game leading up to the state championship.

At the district level for Region III, the publication predicted that Katy High will defeat Alief Elsik, while expecting Paetow High to fall to Fulshear High.

At the area level, Katy High is expected to triumph over Cypress Falls while Fulshear will beat Cypress-Fairbanks.

However, both local teams will fall in the regional semifinals, with Katy stopped by Galena Park North Shore and Fulshear stymied by Humble Atascocita.

North Shore will then defeat Atascocita in the regional finals, and will be victorious over Lake Travis in the state semifinals but will ultimately lose the state championship to North Crowley in the finals, the publication forecasts.
