Educator Reed files to run against Redmon for school board

Tammy Reed, a Katy ISD teacher, filed paperwork dated February 14 to run against incumbent Lance Redmon for Katy ISD Trustee, Position 2 in the upcoming May 3 general election.

Reed’s LinkedIn profile shows that she is technical director and Performing Arts Center Manager at Mayde Creek High School in Katy ISD. Her profile also lists experience at Pasadena Memorial High School, Sabine Pass High School and Mansfield Summit High School. She holds a BA in English education and communication with theatre emphasis from Fort Hays State University and an MA in theatre directing from Roosevelt University, according to the profile.

Her application states that she has lived in Texas for 25 years and six months, with 14 years, five months of that time in the district.

When contacted by the Katy Times, Reed said that she does not yet have a Facebook page or a website for her campaign but is in the process of launching both. A photo of Reed was not available.
