Former University of Texas football player Selvin Young (left) and former University of Texas basketball player TJ Ford (second from right) hosted 30 local youth from sports academies TJ Ford Academy and Selvin’s Cloud for a special “Shopping With A Pro” holiday event at the DICK’S House of Sport at 24600 Katy Fwy Ste 1100 in Katy on December 23. Each child received a $200 DICK’S Sporting Goods gift card to shop for holiday gifts, sports gear and apparel, with Ford and Young serving as their personal “shopping consultants” during the event. Transportation to the location was provided by the Daspit Law Firm. “This event aligns with DICK’S broader mission to support youth sports and strengthen the communities where athletes and fans live and play,” a spokesperson for DICK’S House of Sport said.
