In Monday’s meeting of Katy’s city council, Mayor Pro Tem and Council member at Large Chris Harris announced that he will not seek re-election when his current term expires next year. Harris said that he had informed Mayor Dusty Thiele of his decision a week prior. Harris said that he has been asked by his church, Katy’s United Methodist, to chair the church council next year, and he said that he also wants to devote more time to his two foster children, whom he will have full-time next year.
