Golden Warriors Robotics Team 8576, a FIRST robotics team at Jordan High School, runs a STEM camp every summer for elementary and middle schoolers across the Katy and Fulshear area.

Over the years the group has reached over 140 students through hands-on lessons covering topics from robotics, engineering, coding, and science.

This year the camp will be held June 8-11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robert Shaw Center, 1730 Katyland Drive in Katy. The cost is $250 per student with a $100 discount for the enrollment of two or more students. There is also a teacher discount of $50. The enrollment deadline is June 1 For information on how to enroll, go to https://forms.gle/fj6C4MZCpZcncq8y8 or contact goldenwarriorsrobotics@gmail.com.

The camp can accommodate up to 90 students, organizers said.

The camp is open to incoming second through eighth graders across the Katy and Fulshear area.

“For a lot of these young students, it is their first real exposure to STEM, and we want to give them a proper baseline in a space where they can be curious,” said Aarav Panchangam, team finance deputy officer in an email to the Katy Times.
