Katy Area Retired Educators hosts forum for candidates for state legislature
The Katy Area Retired Educators (KARE) hosted a candidate forum on September 9 at the Community Rooms at Legacy Stadium, 1830 Katyland Drive in Katy, featuring hopefuls running for the Texas state legislature. Participants included (left to right): Gary Gates, incumbent for District 28 ;Matt Morgan, incumbent for District 26; Mike Schofield, incumbent for District 132; Linda Howell, candidate for District 76; Liz Ramos, candidate for District 135; Dennis Geesaman, candidate for District 85; Eliz Markowitz, candidate for District 26; Odus Evbagharu, candidate for District 135; Darlene Breaux, candidate for District 149; Sandy Ibanez, candidate for District 28 and Lawrence Brandyburg, candidate for District 85. Not pictured are Sarah McGee, candidate for District 132 and Dave Bennett, candidate for District 149. Each candidate had three minutes to speak to the capacity crowd of retired educators.
