Harmony Public Schools has named a Katy educator -- Rajani Dhadral, a science teacher at Harmony School of Innovation-Katy --as its 2025-26 Teacher of the Year.

Dhadral originally pursued a degree in medicine before discovering her passion for education while tutoring classmates who were struggling in biomedical courses. Through that experience, she realized she could make a greater impact by preparing future doctors, researchers and innovators than by becoming a physician herself.

“Receiving this recognition is a testament to my commitment to continue empowering students to become confident thinkers, problem-solvers and future leaders,” Dhadral said. “I believe every student deserves the opportunity to discover their potential through meaningful, innovative learning experiences, and I will continue striving to provide my students with exactly that.”

Throughout her career, Dhadral has served in numerous leadership roles, including instructional leadership team model teacher, biology subject content lead, campuswide positive behavior support leader, biology campuswide engagement and events coordinator, biology professional learning community leader, mentor teacher and micro-credential ambassador.

She has also participated in several professional development programs, including the Harmony Aspiring Leaders Academy, the Advisory Cabinet, the Rice Applied Mathematics Program and Harmony's micro-credential program.

Beyond the classroom, Dhadral has sponsored several extracurricular organizations, including the Red Cross Club, STEM Scholars, Doctors Without Borders and the Young Women’s Leadership Collective. She has also coached volleyball and basketball.

Dhadral’s home campus, Harmony School of Innovation-Katy, is located at 21650 Bellaire Blvd. in Richmond.

Harmony Public Schools recognizes outstanding educators each year for their dedication to student achievement, instructional excellence and commitment to preparing students for success in college, careers and life.
Dhadral’s passion for science education and student mentorship exemplifies the mission and values that define Harmony’s teachers across Texas, officials at the charter school system said.
