Katy fall community ‘packathon’ scheduled for Oct. 16 at Redeemer Community Church

Posted

The Katy fall community Packathon, a project of Feed the Hunger, has been set for October 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Redeemer Community Church, 24201 Cinco Ranch Blvd. in Katy.

A packathon is a two-hour hands-on service opportunity for anyone ages five to 105, organizers told the Katy Times. The project work will go toward providing 50,000 Feed the Hunger meals for the local community as well as at-risk children nationally and internationally. At a previous packathon in Katy, more than 650,000 meals were packed, prayed over, and sent on their way to Bangladesh and the Mexican border, according to the organization’s website.

Individual donations are $69.00 per person, or $830.00 for a half station of 12 or $1,675.00 for a full station of 24 people.

To sign up, go to https://www.feedthehunger.org/KATYPAT.
